Amelia is a painter who is greatly inspired by colour, flowers, landscape and nature. Her work focuses on gardens, shorelines and landscapes in Scotland, South West coast and North East. She is particularly inspired by capturing fleeting moments exploring colour, light and shapes, enjoying the calmness and the bustle of colour on the coast line, ponds and gardens. Amelia works mainly in oils and also enjoys acrylic, oil and pastels.
Amelia has been captivated by the fleeting moments and the quietness of cats. In order to capture their mood, grace and agility she works with charcoal and conte enjoying the immediacy, subtlety and informality of the medium.
Amelia’s cat drawings have been selected for the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition 2024. Amelia has also exhibited at Visual Arts Scotland Centenary Exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy 2024, The Pastel Society 125th Annual Exhibition 2024 and 2023 in the Mall Galleries, London and selected for the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Online Exhibition 2023, Edinburgh.
